Postal is a gory, nihilistic, downright horrid game to both witness and play. Putting you in the shoes of the postal dude, someone who has had enough of humanity. \ Though not for a lack of trying, Postal 1 is the story of a deranged man going down the darkest of paths and succumbing to his mental illness and listening to his demons. From seeking out the sheriff in his diary entries to turning into a war journal by level 5, this is someone having a clear psychotic episode with violent delusions.
Growing up in my fascist household, violence was abundant everywhere, so expressing this anger and neglect into a video game was the bees' knees! Just being able to be an absolutely horrible human being trying to kill as many people as possible really brought the lil psycho out of me, but only when I played.
The Postal dude in later re-encarnations, i.e., Postals II, IV, and brain damaged (we don't talk about III), gives him more character for sure, but turns from a pained, clearly schizotypal person into the biggest dick you know. WHICH IS GREAT, I LOVE POSTAL DUDE. Tho og postal dude really reflected the violent little kid, abused and mistreated inside me.
